"Green technologies" (greentech) is a term used to describe highly interdisciplinary, environmentally friendly and sustainable approaches and systems. As such, it's a field that greatly benefits from a multi-disciplinary research approach.

Green Technologies and Sustainability encourages and promotes interdisciplinary research and development to important technological and theoretical developments in greentech and sustainability issues. The journal explores the field's relevance to multiple disciplines, including environmental science, environmental engineering, civil engineering, electrical and computer engineering, green chemistry, green energy, sustainable infrastructure, and so on. We also consider greentech's importance for monitoring, modelling and conserving the natural environment and resources, reducing carbon emissions and energy consumption, mitigating air, water and soil pollution and reducing waste, recover energy and resources, and supporting environmental and socioeconomic sustainability. Greentech include technologies and systems that use less energy and resources, draw on renewable resources, produce clean energy and help reduce and repair environmental harm. Despite the fact that many topics in green technologies are still in their infancy, they have attracted many research interests as people become more aware of the effects of climate change and the degradation of the environments.
